Tremendous Turnout from CWU Members

29th June 2007

Dear Colleague

We would like to thank all Postal Workers for their tremendous turnout and overwhelming support in the Strike action that has taken place over the 29th/30th June.

The Union established a reporting process, covering every Branch and area of the country. Reports on the ground demonstrate this is the most well supported Strike action undertaken on a national basis with over 95% support.

We all know Royal Mails' Business Leaders are well versed in the world of P.R and spin. They will endeavour to dampen down the real level of support for the strike. However, we are countering this with our own media communications.

The Union's Executive will be meeting next week to outline our next steps and we will be writing to individual members in the very near future. In the meantime, we would like you to pass on our thanks to the members in your workplace.

Yours sincerely

Billy Hayes
General Secretary

Dave Ward
